7 Micro Expressions That Reveal You
Micro-expressions are very fast, unintentional expressions that express our current state of emotion. They allow us to know how the person we are interacting with feels, because micro-expressions are universal. If you learn to recognize micro- expressions, your relationships will become easier because you will be able to better understand the feelings and needs of your spouse, friends, and family members, for example.

How many different looks are there?
To date, more than 10,000 different facial expressions have been listed, but only 7 micro-expressions have been found. These are the subtle, universal gestures that allow us to read another person’s emotions. The micro-expressions also create the basis for all the remaining expressions.
Anger
The microexpression associated with anger occurs largely at the top of the face, where the corners go wrinkled. Often the lips tighten and the mouth opens slightly, exposing the teeth.
A typical gesture of anger is also to push the chin forward in a defiant manner.
Fear
The characteristics of this micro-look include tight eyebrows and round eyes. This is how we get the most out of our sense of sight when we sense we are in danger.
Fearful, the mouth is often open and the chin relaxed. This is also related to instincts, as this allows us to shout and bark oxygen.
Joy
Joy manifests on the face as eye squeaking and wrinkles in the corners of the eyes as well as in the lower eyelids. This is good to know: When a person just presents with joys, these wrinkles do not form. The mouth is smiling, and depending on how happy we are, the mouth is more or less open and eventually our teeth are also visible.
Scorn
In the micro-expression of contempt, various things can happen at the top of the face. For this reason, to identify this look, attention should be paid to the lower part of the face, which has a very special look: one side of the mouth rises upwards, while the other forms a half-smile.
John Gottman has studied this particular micro-expression and found out that it is possible to see if the couple’s marriage will end in divorce if we observe the prevalence of this micro-expression between them.
Surprise
The surprised look includes raised, curved eyebrows and very open eyes. At the bottom of the face, the chin is relaxed and the mouth is open.
Grief
The micro-expression of grief is the most difficult to pretend. Its properties include descended angles that converge from its center. The mouth is often arched downwards.
Disgust
This micro-look is one of the easier to identify as the whole look is focused on the mouth and nose area. The nose wrinkles and the upper lip rises, often exposing the teeth. This look is also evident in human relationships if we are against something or we are disgusted by someone.
