The Randomness Of Life: How To Accept The Unexpected

Scientists say that the universe is mostly ruled by randomness. However, the unexpected is something we find difficult to accept. You must never lose touch with your goals in the midst of the randomness of life and you must learn to accept the unexpected.
The randomness of life: how to accept the unexpected

Your life is dominated by many variables and factors… and one of them is randomness. Despite the fact that you take a solid grip on reality as a matter of course, everything is actually mostly random. However, it is really difficult for us to accept everything that is unexpected.

Science writer Kurt Vonnegut Jr. said we have a duty to deal with chaos ourselves in a world that is not governed by commandments and predictability. But we must do so, of course, without letting chaos into our world. While we sometimes have a feeling that fate is usually capricious and put us in a situation we could never have predicted, we don’t experience it often.

Many people live in the world for years with almost no worries and feel everything is in order. We live a normal life, go to school, spend time with family and friends… and chaos seems to be far away. Then suddenly something happens or something changes, making us face to face with change and we have to accept the unexpected.

In moments like these, you need skills, abilities, and mental approaches that you’ve never used before. Oddly enough, there are people who seem to be able to react in a perfect way. It’s as if they have some sort of routine or code written in the genetic genome or brain caches ready to activate in the event of adversity. And they seem to always be able to react in the best possible way.

Difficulty accepting unexpected

There are days when the sun could not be brighter and the sky more serene. However, nothing can prevent darkness from appearing suddenly in a matter of seconds. Sometimes a storm strikes immediately, but sometimes warning clouds tell you a storm is coming. In such circumstances, there is no point in complaining. You just have to  protect yourself.

Sometimes stability dominates the day. All the things on your schedule will be done; every project, meeting and trip goes smoothly. However, something unexpected can happen suddenly without warning.

The worst thing about unexpected events is that they don’t happen alone; they are usually accompanied by other changes and uncertainties. In the midst of these situations, there is no point in complaining, repenting, or stopping. You have to react and act.

However, this is not easy for many people for a variety of reasons. Let’s now look at some of them.

The brain doesn’t like randomness

How can you accept the unexpected if your brain does not tolerate accidental paternity? This exceptional body has an almost obsessive tendency to look for old formulas and learn from experiences in order to help you respond better in your daily life. The brain wants to keep everything under control.

Any unexpected event or unknown stimulus that has not previously occurred or experienced activates the alarm system and is interpreted as a threat.

But does programming the brain in this way mean you can’t react to chance or chaos? Not at all! You have the ability to deal with such circumstances. And while that may sound surprising, we’ve fared pretty well so far.

We are naturally creative beings with awesome spiritual resources to reform, react, and overcome adversity. In this way, we have managed to survive for centuries and in this way we will continue to move forward despite the changes and inevitable fears that unexpected things create.

Unexpected head: hot air balloon.

Accept the unexpected by remembering your goal

Science often states that life is an occasional by-product in a random universe. We must also remember what the well-known physicist Werner Heisenberg said: We do not observe things (or particles) in matter, but waves of possibility.”

This idea helped him develop his famous theory of the principle of inaccuracy, in which he argued that it is impossible to measure or predict the position or motion of a particle. However, we can make assumptions.

However, even in the world of quantum physics, there is always a small amount of chaos. In fact, Heisenberg pointed out that we must always be prepared for unexpected things in an uncertain world.

This fact of life is neither a good nor a bad thing. It’s just reality. There are always people who take advantage of it and have no problem accepting the unexpected and moving forward in a bold and creative way.

Others, on the other hand, are paralyzed by experience. Why is this? Because people often immerse themselves in a relatively peaceful and unchanging life for years. Their minds seem to be able to fully predict what will happen until suddenly a black swan (which Nassim Nicholas Taleb told us) enters the picture.

So how can you deal with the inevitable uncertainties in your daily life? Let’s look at some of the areas to consider.

How to accept the unexpected.

Unexpected encounter and acceptance exercises

You need to accept and face the unexpected by considering the following:

  • The first step in accepting the unexpected is to  remember your own goals. Despite the chaos of the current situation, you will be able to find the strength and courage to act if you are aware of your priorities.
  • The second step is  to take over things that you can really control. By this we mean the decisions you make, the mental approaches and the ways you act.
  • Next, you need to understand that in the midst of all the uncertainty,  you should always take risks. It’s true that acting this way can cause unrest, but you really need to take innovative and positive steps to move forward.
  • It is also important to  bring to life the skills we all have: curiosity, creativity and receptivity. You need to be open to the environment. Listen, accept the advice, and then act on it by following your inner compass. The things you achieve from these situations can really be really enriching.

In summary, to accept the  unexpected, no matter how difficult the situation, it is important to be brave. If you just stand still complaining about the chaos in your life, your suffering will only become greater. You need to be proactive and resourceful and be able to rationalize your fears and turn your feelings and creativity to your advantage.
